Ice Hockey Australia officials have recently announced the squad which will compete in the IIHF 2011 World U20 Division II Championships, the Championships kick off in December 13-19 2010, in Miercurea Ciuc, Romania.
After very good performances in Turkey, the Australian team have found themselves sitting in Division II. The U-20 team will enter this Championship full of confidence, as they look to continue putting in solid performances, in hope of bringing the gold medal back with them to Australian shores.
There will be six nations vying for the prized gold, Poland, Hungary, Romania, Korea, China, and Australia with every team having quality players on the ice, the hockey viewing will be at it's exciting best.
Speaking on behalf of the IHA, team coach Stephen Laforet expressed his confidence in the guys being able to get the job done & hopefully returning with some gold around their necks. "The team we have this year have the experience and stamina to go the distance. We will do Australia proud again."
